A pop-up park and outdoor dining space is planned for Wallace Square to provide a casual meeting and social space.

The Wallace Square pop-up park and outdoor dining area are being delivered as part of the Melton Town Centre Revitalisation Program. The Melton Town Centre Revitalisation Program aims to create additional reasons to visit the Melton Town Centre and support local businesses.

Consultation on the Wallace Square Pop Up Park & Outdoor Dining Project was carried out in October and November 2022. Feedback was sought via the Conversations page, emails to traders and in-person visits to traders.

Council has reviewed the feedback received and a summary of the consultation is below. Council has heard your concerns and suggestions, along with the limited support for the proposed idea and as such, is exploring new options. We are close to be able to come back to you with an updated proposal.
