Melton Town Centre Revitalisation Plan Project.

In 2020 Melton City Council received $200,000 in funding from the Victorian State Government (via the Suburban Revitalisation Program) to the prepare a revitalisation plan for the Melton Town Centre (MTC).

The MTC has been in decline over recent years and impacted significantly by nearby retail competition, a lack of public transport, changing consumer behaviour and a challenging economic conditions.

The MTC needs positive interventions to attract more visitors, revive its economy and make it a safe place for everyone to enjoy. With a proud history and an eye to the future, we want to breathe new life into the town centre.

The Draft Revitalisation Plan - Help us shape its future.

Our vision is to create a vibrant, bustling, walkable town centre where businesses and communities thrive. A town centre that offers a diverse range of retail, hospitality, recreational and creative attractions. A town centre that preserves its local character yet is sustainable over the long term. A town centre that is safe, easy to navigate, and accessible to everyone both day and night.

The Melton Town Centre Draft Revitalisation Plan provides a roadmap for turning our vision into reality. Informed by community feedback, technical investigations, and analysis of the centre's attributes and opportunities, the plan incorporates a set of ideas and actions to ensure the centre’s growth and prosperity.

Consultation was conducted during November and December 2023. Feedback received is currently being considered. A summary of the feedback is being prepared and will be provided to this webpage in the near future.
