Project Background

Thornhill Park Active Open Space is a 6.45-hectare site located in Thornhill Park. The reserve is surrounded by residential development to the west and south, a government school to the east and future primary school to the north.

This reserve is identified as requiring:

  • 3 soccer pitches. One main pitch, 2 pitches with cricket overly.
  • Sports pavilion.
  • Car parking.
  • Associated infrastructure to support community level sporting clubs.
  • Passive open space elements, landscaping, furniture, district level play space and path network.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the consultation period from 16 August - 6 September 2024.

We received input through various channels, including an online survey on this webpage, social media posts, mail outs to neighbouring propertied and face-to-face drop-in sessions held at various locations and times.

We are pleased to confirm that many of the suggestions by residents have been taken into consideration, a copy of the final master plan can be found in the document library.
