Troups Road is being upgraded as part of the Melton City Council 2021 & 2022 capital projects budget. Troups Road is currently covered with gravel which requires improvement for increased traffic and safety.
The project will include:
- New construction of a sealed road from Greigs Road to Boundary Road
- An upgraded intersection at both Greigs and Boundary Road
- Improvements to drainage, line markings and curbs
- Improvements to driveway cross-overs and end walls
- Changes to the telephone and electrical services along the road

The project has progressed through the design stage, into tender and has recently been awarded to a suitably qualified contractor.
We are currently progressing with the required approvals and the procurement of materials prior to the contractor establishing facilities on site.
Due to circumstances out of our control and through consultation with the relevant authorities, additional design works are required prior to starting construction. The redesign works are almost complete and are awaiting approval from the water authority as they affect water levels and drainage in these areas.
In response to the delay, Council has restarted the weekly grading of the road to ensure that it remains serviceable and in as good a condition as possible.
We are working hard to commence this project as soon as possible.
