Project Background
The Navan Park upgrade will increase tree planting and shade, add natural play elements to the existing play space, improve accessible footpath connections of the play space, car park, and lake to enhance the range of passive and recreation facilities that the park offers to all members of the community.

Project Updates
As part of our commitment to preserving local biodiversity, a recent assessment has identified the presence of native grasses within the project area. In response, the design has been carefully adjusted to minimise any impact on these important natural assets, while also ensuring that the community’s enjoyment of the space remains unchanged.
Following the August Council Meeting, the project tender has been awarded, with construction scheduled to begin in late September. While the design has been slightly refined to align with the approved budget, there are no major changes to the overall plan. However, the two platforms along the lake remain under discussion and are likely to be included in future projects. Updates on any further decisions will be posted on this page.
