Background
Great news, Navan Park Dog Park is moving and getting a major upgrade!
The good news is, the new location, to the west of the existing site, will offer a bigger, better space for dogs and their owners to play, explore, and enjoy time outdoors together, and will feature:
- more trees and improved landscaping
- a sheltered seating area
- natural play elements for dogs
- open grass areas for running
- accessible circuit paths
Why is the dog park moving?
We understand the existing dog park is a valued and well-used space for both the community and their pets. However, following advice from Melbourne Water regarding flood risks at the current site, Council is proposing to relocate the dog park to a safer location.
The Navan Park Dog Park Upgrade is supported by the Victorian Government with funding through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks – Round 2 program and Melbourne Water.
What We're Doing
We’re upgrading the dog park to include more trees, a sheltered area, natural play elements for dogs with an open grass area for running
The existing dog park will be closed from September 2026 when construction of the new dog park begins.
The upgraded dog park is expected to open to the public by February 2027.
