Project Background

Melton City Council is revitalising McDonald Street Reserve to provide a variety of play experiences for a broad range of ages and abilities, a sheltered social and picnic space, new path network, additional tree planting for shade, and improved turfed kick-about space.

Project Updates

A Cultural Heritage Management Plan is currently underway for this project, as a significant number of artefacts have been identified onsite. The footprint of the playground has been significantly reduced to ensure the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage value. A final plan will be shared on this page once it is approved by relevant Authorities.

This project is now scheduled for completion within the FY26/27 Infrastructure Plan, and the timeframe has been adjusted accordingly.
