We believe that all Victorians deserve a liveable community, no matter where they live. That’s why we are part of The Liveability Project.

The Liveability Project is for the 1.6 million people living in Melbourne’s outer suburbs, and the 2.5 million people that will live there by 2031. It’s calling for better access to jobs, services, education and amenities so that residents can get on with their lives the way they want to live it.

The Liveability Project needed City of Melton residents to raise their voice and tell their story. Victoria’s decision makers need to understand how better access to the jobs, services and infrastructure in Melbourne’s outer suburbs can alter lives.

You could get involved by sharing videos, photos and stories that shine a spotlight on the daily challenges you face living in Melbourne’s outer suburbs and how this impacts your life and your family.

Residents could share their experiences on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #TheLiveabilityProject.

Your stories have the power to create the change that is needed.

#TheLiveabilityProject is powered by Interface Councils, a group of 10 councils who form a ring around metropolitan Melbourne. This includes Melton City Council.

Share your stories on social media and use the hashtag #TheLiveabilityProject. It could be that you get stuck in traffic trying to get to work or school, you can’t access the health and community services you need, you’re stuck at the train station or bus stop because the bus only goes past once an hour or that your child’s education is being compromised by over demand.

This campaign launched on 20 February and will continue through to the lead up to the State Government Election in November.
