What is the project about?
We want to hear from the City of Melton's children about what's important to them in the places they live. We want to hear health and wellbeing experiences and ideas from children to inform the Council and Wellbeing Plan 2021-25, and the Municipal Early Years Plan.
A series of consultation activities are being held throughout April to ensure the voices of children and young people are reflected in the next Council and Wellbeing Plan. This consultation is part of a new and exciting partnership between Melton City Council and VicHealth.
Kinders, primary schools and high schools have all been invited to participate in tailored engagement activities in Term 2. If you think your kinder or school should be involved, have a chat with them and have them contact our Health & Wellbeing Projects Officer.
In addition to school activities, you will find separate surveys for children and young people, and fun ways to share your opinion with us.
The feedback from these consultations will be fed into the next Council and Wellbeing Plan, and Action Plans which stem from it. We will also use the data to inform our Municipal Early Years Plan.
If you’re interested to see what is already happening in the health and wellbeing space for the community, like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/healthymelton
We want to hear from you.
You can contribute to the project in a couple of ways.
Firstly, we would love to hear about your favourite activity in the City of Melton. This could be meeting friends in a park, playing sport, walking tracks or even a shopping centre. The possibilities are endless! And we can’t wait to hear about where you love to be in the community.
We're asking you to write about your favourite activity, and share it with us.
We are also running a survey to get a better understanding of what's important to you. Complete the survey for your chance to win one of four $100 Woodgrove shopping vouchers.
The survey closed on Sunday 23 May. Winners will be notified by Friday 28 May.
