The City of Melton is committed to providing welcoming and accessible community spaces that meet the diverse needs of our growing population. We believe that strong communities are built on shared spaces where residents can connect, learn, and celebrate together.
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve and expand community infrastructure, we conducted a survey to better understand how groups use and value current meeting spaces. It also helped us identify any gaps or areas for improvement for future developments.
There are four parts to this process:
- Demand analysis. We analyses the current uses of community centres, along with current trends regarding community space use and establish preliminary proposals.
- Community consultation. We seek community feedback about how groups and individuals experience and interact with community meeting spaces. This feedback will be used to inform an analysis paper that will consider potential changes to the way that community meeting spaces are delivered.
- Data analysis. Based on the two previous stages, a report will be written with a rationale for potential changes to future community meeting spaces. The report will be uploaded to this website.
- The preliminary proposal will be updated with any changes to standard specifications for community meeting spaces that result from community feedback or other analysis.
