We’re excited to share that a new Children’s and Community Centre is coming to Diggers Rest! This modern space is being built to support the growing needs of our Diggers Rest community and will include:

• Kindergarten facilities
• Maternal and Child Health services
• A unique Library Lounge – the first of its kind in the City of Melton!

Our vision is to create a welcoming place where everyone can come together, enjoy library programs, access essential services, and build lasting connections.

The Diggers Rest community can be part of shaping this space. You will have the opportunity to share your ideas and help influence the services and features offered in the new Library Lounge.

Community was invited to provide feedback by attending a pop-up information session or by completing a short survey.

Feedback on the draft concept designs and library lounge have now closed, and Council Officers are currently reviewing and analysing this feedback.

A Diggers Rest Pop-Up information session was held on Saturday 31 January 2026 between 11am to 2pm at the Diggers Rest Community Pavilion on Plumpton Road.

This session provided community members with the opportunity to enjoy a free BBQ and to come and chat to Council staff :

• to hear more about the plans for the new Diggers Rest Children's and Community Centre
• provide feedback on the library lounge, and how you might like to use this space into the future
• find out more about Council's library, family and children's services.
