Project Background

We’re excited to share that a new Children’s and Community Centre is coming to Diggers Rest! This modern space is being built to support the growing needs of our Diggers Rest community and will include:

  • Kindergarten facilities
  • Maternal and Child Health services
  • A unique Library Lounge – the first of its kind in the City of Melton!

Our vision is to create a welcoming place where everyone can come together, enjoy library programs, access essential services, and build lasting connections.

The Diggers Rest community can be part of shaping this space. You will have the opportunity to share your ideas and help influence the services and features offered in the new Library Lounge.

Larger outdoor play space for families

The facility is located next to open outdoor recreation space which is available to all community members to utilise

More trees and native plants

Planting of native trees and plants has been incorporated in the children’s outdoor play space landscape design

Shade sail and riding path in outdoor play space

Shade sails and paths from riding trikes/bikes have been incorporated into the children’s outdoor play space landscape design

MCH wait space

A waiting space for MCH clients has been incorporated into the facility design

Traffic management

Traffic Management team have been consulted as part of the facility design
