Project Background

Community engagement is all about involving people in matters that impact and interest them. By involving our community in decision making, we can make sure our services and projects meet community expectations and need.

Melton City Council is developing a new Community Engagement Policy. This policy will guide the way Council and the Melton community work together to inform Council decisions, projects, policies and plans.

The draft Community Engagement Policy incorporates community feedback and the new requirements of the Victorian Local Government Act 2020. The draft Policy explains our commitment to community engagement including when, who and how we will engage on different matters.

The draft policy is available for public viewing and comments were received until 18 January 2021.

We will review our draft policy following this exhibition period and respond to any community feedback. This document will be presented to Council for adoption in February 2021.
