Background

Melton City Council is developing a Communications Strategy, which will help improve how we share information with residents, and make our communications more accessible and engaging.

To help shape the strategy, we’re running a survey which will help us understand how you want us to communicate with you, along with your level of interest, satisfaction and preferences.

2026 Communications Survey

Between late March and April 2026, researchers will visit homes across the City of Melton to conduct our Communications Survey.

If you receive a knock on the door, we’d appreciate if you took the time to help us by providing your insight and feedback. The survey only takes around 15 minutes to complete.

The survey is being conducted by Metropolis Research, an independent market research company. They will not ask any identifying questions, such as your name or phone number and will be wearing photo ID.

Your responses are confidential and only the overall results will be shared with Council. You may be asked if you’d like to opt into our upcoming website testing, for which your email address will be collected. It will be kept separate to your survey responses.

For further information about the survey check out the questions below.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and individual responses are confidential. Field researchers will carry photo identification.

The households that are chosen to take part are randomly selected to ensure the data is accurate and a good representation of the City of Melton.

About 500 households will be involved in this research.

Council is always looking for opportunities to continuously improve its services and facilities. This feedback is essential in achieving this.

Residents who have been selected for the survey can expect a knock on their door between 28 March and mid-April 2026.
