Background

Council’s Allocation of Sport and Recreation Facilities Policy was adopted in September 2024. Its purpose is to guide decision making in relation to the fair access to, and use of, sport and recreation facilities in the City of Melton.

The objectives of this policy are:

  • To provide a consistent and transparent approach to decision making regarding the allocation and use of Council’s sport and recreation facilities.
  • To ensure fair and equitable access is provided to Council’s sport and recreation facilities to meet community needs.
  • To provide clarity regarding responsibilities for the allocation and use of Council’s sport and recreation facilities.
  • To ensure the optimal use and activation of Council’s sport and recreation facilities.

What We're Doing

We are currently reviewing the Policy’s effectiveness and outcomes since it was adopted and implemented in 2024. As part of the review, we invite the community to share their feedback via the survey.

We will take time to review your feedback alongside strategic direction and determine the most suitable approach for the policy, our facilities and the broader community.
